| The organic market has grown exponentially in Europe during the last ten years. However, the organic fruit industry has shown the lowest growth rates (1-5% market share) compared to other commodities. One major reason is the high production risk due to high disease and pest pressure in humid climates. Key pests and diseases in apple and pear include scab, sooty blotch, and fire blight as well as rosy apple aphid, pear sucker, and codling moth. In cherry, damages due to brown rot (Monilinia) and the cherry fruit fly make organic production almost unfeasible. | Aphid populations, including a widespread pest, Myzus persicae, are known to be affected by cultural practices, plant growth and natural regulation, but their control in orchards most frequently relies on regular treatments aiming to avoid direct damage and virus transmission. This study aimed first at characterising farmers’ management strategies towards aphids and, secondly evaluating them in terms of efficiency and impact on aphid natural enemies from 19 organic and conventional fruit farms in south-eastern France. Comprehensive variables made it possible to differentiate four strategies: intensive, optimised, input-substitution and integrated. Zu jeder Krankheit, jedem Schädling hat es ein Bild sowie die Unterkapitel Wie erkennen?, Wichtig zu wissen, Wie vorbeugen?, Wie direkt bekämpfen? Ein übersichtlicher Terminplan zeigt, wann bei welchem Schädling welche Massnahme vorzusehen ist. Im Kapitel Applikationstechnik wird die korrekte Anwendung der Pflanzenschutzmittel vermittelt. Abgerundet wird das Merkblatt mit einer Tabelle, worin die bewilligten Wirkstoffe und Bekämpfungsmethoden kurz beschrieben sind. |

| Cross-Protection, ein Verfahren in dem Pflanzen durch Vorinfektion mit einem avirulenten Erregerstamm geschützt werden sollen, wurde als neue Methode zur Bekämpfung der Apfeltriebsucht erprobt. Gewächshausversuche mit Catharanthus roseus und Freiland-versuche mit Malus x domestica wurden durchgeführt, indem Versuchspflanzen zuerst mit dem avirulenten oder virulenten Stamm infiziert, und anschließend mit dem jeweils anderen Stamm zweitinfiziert wurden. Die Entwicklung der Erregerstämme wurde durch real time-PCR Analysen verfolgt. | Het project “Praktijkgericht onderzoek en inzet van alternatieve bestrijdingsmiddelen voor de controle van probleemplagen in de biologische pitfruitteelt” had tot doel een bijdrage te leveren aan de teelt- en de bedrijfszekerheid van biologische pitfruitbedrijven. Spruzit (pyrethrinen met synergist piperonylbutoxide (PBO), dat gebruikt werd voor (correctie)behandelingen tegen probleemplagen in de biologische pitfruitteelt is niet meer in de handel sinds januari 2018. Aan de hand van de proeven die in dit project uitgevoerd werden, werd kennis opgedaan met nieuwe middelen tegen meer algemene plagen of met gekende middelen tegen nieuwe plagen.
